Wouldn't it be wild if . . .

the entire idea of the United States of America overthrowing Saddam Hussein had been nurtured by the Iranian government? Read Joshua Micah Marshall and ponder the idea that perhaps the ideologues in the White House have been played by a government that had so much more to gain than the US ever did by a destabilized Iraq. I'm not talking about political union, I hope I'm not anyway, and the two cultures of Iraq and Iran are very different (e.g. different languages) but the Shiites do share common values on both sides of the Shatt al-Arab.

This is all wildly speculative.
