21.12.04

This is the beginning . . .

It is now Tuesday and tonight will be the longest night of the year here (all 16 hours and 21 minutes of it). Aside from childhood enthusiasm for receiving gifts, the solstices have tended to strike me as the most significant days of the year in that they remind us of the powerful cyclical forces that influence our lives. It is hovering around zero degrees Celsius here and there is ice on the ground when I wander along the sidewalks here. At the summer solstice it will be very different.

I want to tell the world that I miss talking with my sister and I hope that she is well.
